Li Feng (李锋 · 小缶居士) | Master of All-Handmade Square Ware

Li Feng has practiced ceramic potting in Yixing for over thirty years. Formally trained under master Gao Songyun and studying the structural legacy of Ming dynasty master Chen Mingyuan, Li specializes exclusively in all-handmade square vessels (全手工方器) formed without plaster molds. Using traditional slab-beating and compressive miter joinery, he balances raw purple clay against severe 10–12% kiln shrinkage. In 2015, Li was awarded Third Prize at the official Yixing All-Handmade Ceramic Competition (Jingzhou Cup). In 2019, he received an Excellence Award in the Jiangsu selection round of the 14th Handmade Pottery Competition and the 5th National Ceramic Vocational Skills Competition. His career and works are permanently archived in the national TaoHuRen database. At XUJIE, Li directs the "Chengqi" (成器) all-handmade collector line, translating geometric tension into functional vessels.
